CLASS SIZE AND TEACHERS’ INTEREST IN TEACHING CIVIC EDUCATION IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN UYO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES;

1.       To examine the influence of a large class size on teachers’ interest in teaching civic education in primary schools in Uyo Local Government Area.
2.       Assess the influence of small class size on teachers interest in teaching social studies in primary schools in Uyo Local Government Area.
MINOR OBJECTIVES;
1.    To Examine the influence of class size on teachers’ motivation in the teaching of civic education in a primary school in Uyo local government
2.    To also examine to which extent does large classroom motivates teachers’ in the teaching of civic education in a primary school in uyo local government.
3.    To examine how numbers of pupils’ motivates teachers’ in teaching civic education in primary schools in your local government

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES;

In specific terms, the study sought to:
1.      To examine the influence of parental educational attainment on pupils’ academic performance in civic education in primary schools in uyo local government.
2.    To examine the influence of parental socioeconomic status on pupils’ academic performance on civic education  in primary schools in uyo local government
MINOR OBJECTIVES;
1.       To examine the influence of parenting style on pupils’ academic performance in civic education in primary schools in uyo local government.
2.    To examine parental motivation on pupils academic performance on  civic education in primary schools in uyo local government
3.    To examine parental occupation on pupils academic performance in civic education in uyo local government

1.   To find out the impact of school location on pupils learning outcome in civic education.
2.   To examine the impact of the availability of instructional facilities on academic performance of pupils in civic education
MINOR OBJECTIVES;
1.   To examine the impact of class size on pupils learning of civic education
2.   To also examine teachers’ characteristic of pupils academic performance in civic education
3.    Finally, to examine teachers’ teaching pattern on pupils academic performance in civic education

PEER GROUP INFLUENCE AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF PUPILS  ON CIVIC EDUCATION IN UYO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES;
Specifically, the study sought to:
1.   Ascertain the influence of drug use on academic achievement of civic education among primary school pupils’
2.   Examine the influence of absenteeism on academic achievement of social studies among primary school pupil
MINOR OBJECTIVES:
1.   To examine the influence of loitering on academic achievement of social studies among primary school pupil
2.   To examine peer group interest on academic performance of pupils in primary school
3.   To also examine peer group distractions on the academic performance of pupils in primary school.

        TEACHING METHODS AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE IN CIVIC EDUCATION AMONG PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS  IN UYO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA
         
          SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
         

Specifically the study to;
1.    Examine the effect of a discovery method in student academic performance in Civic education.
2.    Assess the effect of discussion method on the academic performance of primary school pupils in Civic education.
MINOR OBJECTIVES:
1.    To investigate the effect of lecture method on the academic performance of primary school pupils in Civic Education.
2.    To examine the impact of play way method on academic performance of pupils in civic education
3.    To also, examine the level of voice used by the teacher on academic performance of pupils in civic education
