Finally Nigeria Customs Service Break Silence On The Delay In Recruitment

Finally Nigeria Customs Service Break Silence On The Delay In Recruitment

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has attributed the delay in processing the ongoing recruitment into the Service to the corona virus pandemic.

The Customs National Public Relation Officer, Deputy Comptroller, Joseph Attah, in response to enquiries on the NCS social media platform, yesterday, said the recruitment exercise was delayed due to “situation beyond our control.”

He said: “the Service was compiling and getting set to invite the successful candidates for interview and other physical checks when the corona virus virus struck.” He, however, assured that the process would resume once it is confirmed safe to do so.

“We appreciate all those who are asking to know about the recruitment exercise. Yes, this one is longer than usual due to situations beyond our control.

“Remember after the aptitude test, which was conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the Service was compiling and getting set to invite the successful candidates for interview and other physical checks when Corona virus virus struck.

“With gradual relaxation setting in now, NCS will release the invitation at the appropriate time.

“In this unfortunate situation, patience is key. Remember that the process is electronically driven, so you can be rest assured of transparency in line with the stand of Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali.

“The delay is in the best interest of everybody’s health.

This recruitment exercise will definitely be taken to its logical conclusion,” he assured. The NCS, on April 17, 2019, opened its portal for the recruitment of 3,200 officers and men into the Service. As at the time the portal was closed in May, about 524,315 applicants had successfully completed their application process.
